Seahaus, the $100 million urban renewal project by Barratt American along La Jolla Boulevard, has been credited with revitalizing the Bird Rock area of La Jolla by donating more than $3 million in improvements to the community. The project is located on a four-acre site two blocks from the Pacific Ocean with 265,000 square feet of build-out. Over 80,000 cubic yards of earth was moved to create the space to construct the parking garages. There are a total of thirteen wood framed buildings that range from two to three stories, designed by architect, M.W. Steele. All units enjoy underground parking in the community’s secure garage, pool and spa with changing rooms, and firepit with grassy area for summer nights.
A veritable showcase of classic 20th century coastal architecture, Seahaus offers 37 floor plans over five product lines, ranging in size from 1,200 to 2,200 square feet. The 36 homes at The Colony offer the greatest diversity of floor plans at Seahaus with a total of 19 plans from which to choose. Ranging from 1,236 to 1,740 square feet, these residences offer one and two bedrooms, one to two bathrooms, and a library in select plans. The single-story homes, located on Forward Street, feature angles and arches on the exterior, with patios on the first level and balconies on the second- and third-level homes. The eight Cottages are two-story townhomes centrally located within the Seahaus community, ranging in size from 1,341 to 1,363 square feet. Cottage models include one bedroom and 2.5 baths, with loft-style den. Outside, faded timber walls evoke years of exposure to ocean air, while adjoining patio gardens allow residents to enjoy it firsthand. Some Cottage models have rooftop patios. Seahaus' 57 Breakers flats offer ocean view patios. Situated on exclusive Chelsea Street, the 2 bedroom, 2 bath Breakers’ plans include a library in some units, which range in size from 1,679 to 2,163 square feet. The Breakers’ exteriors display a modern look, with clean archways and oversized windows to maximize ocean views. Located on La Jolla Boulevard and Midway Street, the 13 Seahaus Studios range from 714 to 1,002 square feet. All feature balconies that overlook Bird Rock’s charming retail shops. Some studios are urban loft-styled, while others feature separate master bedrooms.
