With Garnet Avenue as the heart of Pacific Beach, there are lots of great local shops- from vintage and antiques, to the latest trends and names in fashion, there is much to see and buy along Garnet.

For those shoppers who are always in the front seat of fashion, here are some great shops to stop into and take a peek around:

RAW Clothing offers the latest styles and ideas for upcoming styles from the top names and lines in fashion. They have a variety of clothing for both girls and guys, from casual to trendy, RAW has it. The store also sells shoes and accessories (hats, purses and bags, jewelry, watches), must have items to complete any outfit.

RAW Clothing is located at 940 Garnet Avenue.

Atomic Trading Company is another little hot spot to shop on Garnet. They also have the latest and greatest in fashion names and style. The store features threads from Paul Frank, Jeenyus, Ben Sherman, Von Zipper, and many more. Their jewelry and accessories cases are always hot and are perfect additions to complete any outfit. Next door to their clothing store is Atomic Shoes , also offering a great selection of shoes and sandals for guys and girls. Here they have the latest styles from Steve Madden, Naughty Monkey, Seychelles, Vans, Puma, and many more. They also have a good selection of flip flops if you find you are missing one or running low. Check them out.

In between RAW and Atomic you will find The River. This clothing store has a lot of great styles and a wide range of prices to suit everyone. Here you will find the perfect shirt to wear out later, followed by the perfect shoes and then of course bag to complete the outfit. The River has a great selection for both guys and girls and has anything from white tank tops and quotable shirts, to high stylin' and higher end designs and labels. From accessories, undies, dresses, swimsuits, and designer jeans, The River has everything you were never looking for and more. If you are in need of a quick outfit change but don't want to spend a lot of money, head down Garnet to The Closet. This clothing and accessories store is huge and has all the latest trends- from polka dots to camouflage and stripes-they have so much to choose from at low prices. Come here to coordinate outfits, pick up something for the themed party of the night, find a cute shirt, or accessorize. Warning, you might have to search through racks of clothing before finding something, but the finds here are well worth it. The prices are perfect for styles that come and go so quickly.

For a more casual, surf inspired look, Pacific Beach has some great local surf shops to check out that sell more than just clothing, but also have a wide selection of surfboards and gear to make any local here happy.

The Surf Club is a good place to go that's small and local and will service any surfer, beach-goer, or tourist. It may be a small shop, but The Surf Club has a lot to offer in terms of selection, quality, and service. Here you will find lots of new styles from the well loved names of Quiksilver, Roxy, Billabong, and Ripcurl. In addition to the boards they sell here, you can also special order the surfboard of your dreams and have it shaped personally and professionally to your liking. The guys that work here are super friendly and always stoked to help you out.

The Surf Club is located at 952 Garnet Avenue

Southcoast boardshops have two locations in Pacific Beach and also offer a great selection of surf apparel and style as well as boards and all the gear. Southcoast Windansea is located at the end of Felspar right near the beach, and is a great place to hit for both guys' and girls' clothing, accessories, and of course the well loved Rainbow flip flops. The shop features lots of clothing selections from brands like Volcom, Quiksilver, Ezekiel, Ripcurl, Billabong, Electric, Von Zipper, and much more. And to complete the one stop surf shop, they feature their own line of surfboards, as well as offering the option of custom and specialty boards. Southcoast's sister shop is just a few streets down, and is located right at the Crystal Pier on the boardwalk. Southcoast Wahines is an all girls surf shop that carries all the latest trends and styles from the same brands as Southcoast. Here you will also find great deals and a large selection of styles and merchandise to choose from. Wahines carries a lot from each of its featured lines, and because it's an all girls shop caters to every girls' needs. With swim suits, accessories, seasonal clothing, and trends, this shop is any beach girl's shopping haven.

Anatomic Rag is a vintage clothing and costume store on Garnet that always has some great finds. Here you will come across vintage board shorts and pieces that came from somebody's relative's attic that are all nonetheless amazing. Sometimes it takes some searching in here, but the best finds are when you least expect them. Anatomic also carries vintage jewelry and accessories and is the perfect place to come for a big pair of sunglasses. The dressed aardvark mannequins in the window also add a nice touch to the store.

Gracie's Boutique on Turquoise Street in between Cass Street and Bayard Street. This little boutique offers the latest in styles from accessories to clothing. Gracie's carries many lines from local San Diego designers and always has a great sale rack to check out.
